My Week Home!

Well, no great pictures for this post, but I want to tell you all what I was doing while I wasn't updating my blog! I got to spend some time with the family from two Fridays ago to this last Sunday! Katie came up and saw me in Boise and then she took me to Twin for a day, gave me a haircut and pedicure, and then took me home to BL to go to Andrew Wallentine's welcome home! It was so fun to travel with and talk to Katie, to see Andrew and the Wallentine family, and to spend the rest of the next week with my family! My mom gave me all those things in that other post, and we also put together two scrap flannel quilts that mom is finishing for Amy and I right now. They're going to be so cute!

Actually, I'll give you a picture for this next topic. The Celtics won the NBA championship!! How exciting! My family all watched the games up until the last one on Sundaythe 8th when they took the title. Of course, I had no idea they won until just now! They looked like they would for sure lose the game last Thrusday or Friday, but they came right back and won the game all in the last quarter! All of you know that I'm not a huge sports person, and I espcially don't like basketball unless the BL Bears are playing, but I just couldn't help it! We had a great time cheering them on! I guess I do have a soft spot in my heart for Boston though--I did my state report on Massachussetts in 5th grade, so I guess that explains it! :) Go Celtics!!

I also got to go to 4th of July choir practice while I was home and get familiar with the music we'll be signing this holiday! I am so excited about going home for the 4th--I really missed it last year up in Washington. In fact, me and a friend drove to a small town far away just so I could be to a small-town parade! This is a picture from that parade. Definatly small town- local cowboy popping a wheely on his trusty lawn-mower! :) It was really fun, but I 'm excited to go home! We always have a great time at the flag raising, breakfast, practice, peformance, and the parade in the morning. Then we always have a BBQ and games and all the food you can eat the rest of the day! I'm just hoping I don't go into labor anytime during that patriotic peformance in the tabernacle. Those choir seats would not be my ideal place to have this baby! :)

It was really good to spend some time with the parents and Karen. Karen is working for the nursing home in BL and mowing 11 lawns a week on the side! She is such a busy girl, but I admire her hard work and determination to get college and other expenses paid so she doesn't have to take out any loans. While we were home she got her letter from Weber State that said that we was admitted into her Lab Tech program! Now she will be able to finish her associates degree this year and then continue on to get her bachelors! What a good girl!

I came back with my parents to Pocatello on Friday night, and on Saturday morning my mom had to take a Praxis test for her schooling. She is getting her teaching degree online and hopes to teach elementary school within a year or so--go Mom! We're all sure she did great--she always does! We got to see Amy and Brett and their new apartment in Pocatello. They both just graduated from CSI, Amy with her Medical Assisting degree and Bret with his Associates in Education I believe. Bret is going to ISU starting this summer to get his Bachelors in Education. He should be done in two years right along with Jake! It will be so nice to have them closer to Rexburg! After mom finished her test, we went to my favorite store Ross for a minute and headed off to Twin to see my Grandpa in an assisted living home for Fathers Day. He is doing well, but its always sad to see your loved ones get older and not be able to do much for them. We saw Katie at the mall where she works for the JC Penny Salon. She does such an excellent job and is buildling clientel all the time! She loves her job and Twin--I'm so happy that she loves her chosen profession so much! She was kinda enough to cut all the boys hair when we saw her later on Saturday night--she always does such a good job--Thanks KT!

We went on to Mountain Home that afternoon where we stayed at my Grandmas house overnight and attending my cousins farewell that next Sunday. I saw Jake for the first time in about 8 days at around 6:30 that Saturday and it was like I hadn't seen him in a year. I kinda ran away from him at first just because I wasn't ready to be all huggy with a stranger! :) It was so nice to see him again--I have never missed him so much in my life! It was really hard to be away, but it was sure fun to spend time with Mom, Dad and Karen at home and see Amy, Brett and Katie on our way back! It was the perfect trip and I'm so glad it worked out so well! Of course, me being the bum I am had to get rides everywhere I went, but my family was really good to me and were very helpful with all my little pregnancy issues! Thanks to mom and dad especially, always being concerned with my comfort and swollen ankles. I'd post a picture, but you don't want to see it! :) My cousins farwell was great and we got to sing as a family for it! Dad also got to speak and he did an excellent job! We had a great dinner, played an exciting round of dominos (which I won! :), and then left in our different directions. I really love my family and had a great time with them this last week. Thanks for all you do for me!

Hey Laura, I don't know if you remember me, I was the exchange student from Brazil that was roommates with Kami right when she got engaged. Anyways, we lived in the same complex(Herigate manor), so I remember talking to you a few times! I just saw that you're expecting as well, and you're almost there! That's exciting! I'm still only 26 weeks, but I'm sure it will go by fast! Hope everything goes well in the next few weeks!!

LOL! Laura! "I did a state report on Massachusetts" haha!! You are so hilarious. I love reading your posts. Thanks for the comment on mine. I get a little leery of posting such information on my blog. I hope Jake can still accept me somehow. :)
Yes we are going home for the 4th! And I am so excited! We should plan something to do together that weekend.
