Thanksgiving Take 2!!

Ok, well here's the big Thanksgiving Break story some of you may have heard about. (Sorry, I 'll apologize AGAIN!! I really can't figure out blogger and so everything is out of order, in separate posts, etc..:)

So, our Christmas tree trips are very eventful every year, but most of the time we just get stuck for a few hours until President Crawford comes and gets us...:) This year though, we decided to take it up a notch! On our way up the canyon some teenagers were plowing down the canyon (SINGLE LANE, SLUSHY, TIGHT can't see who's coming CORNERS) and almost hit us head on going at least 45 mph! Luckily they saw us RIGHT BEFORE they hit us and swerved a little and just their flat bed hit us. We were shoved off to the right, and luckily for them there were trees on their side or they would have rolled down the hill... Hardly any damage on their truck, but our radiator was blown out, wheel steering knocked out--lets just say TOTALED!! My poor parents... They were troppers through the whole thing! Love you guys!

So, after getting over our madness we just kinda hung out until the cops came. That took a while though due to some miscommunication--they thought we just hit a deer so Amy and Brett came to get us, then we had to run to the top of the hill for reception AGAIN to call the cops. Finally they came and we got it all squared away... Hopefully my parents get a good deal from the issurance because they won't sue for anything. My parents are too nice... :) Here are some more pictures for your viewing pleasure...
The sheriff came all the way out here for us, and brought along a second cop just in case. :)
My dad filling out the police report. Turns out, NO ONE had their seatbelts on except for me, so they all would have gotten tickets had the cop not been so kind to us... Good thing the accident wasn't any worse... I was thinking later that day how they could have hit us head on, us being in a little car--that would have been soo much worse!! We are soo thankful that God protected all of us that day, because me and dad in the front and those in the back could easily died, along with the boys in the truck. Things like this really make you think about life and not taking it for granted.
Another blessing--thankfully the accident happened right as we entered Forest Service land, so while dad and I waited, these guys went and picked out a tree in the legal area for tagging a Christmas tree. Good thing we had something to do while we waited... And Karen and Drew probably feel bad--the tree was for them in the first place!! :) And thanks to the Arnells who were there for most of the incident and came back to offer to pick up a tree for us! I love our friends in BL!!
This is what happens when you're stranded in cold weather....:) Thankfully I packed a lot of food and water just in case, and we ended up needing it afterall!!
Ok, back to Thanksgiving in the warm house... For some reason these little girls liked being chased around with this Halloween baskets on the attacker's head. :)
Sariah and Hannah both learned how to cheese for the camera last weekend. Sorry Amy, for some reason I forgot to turn this picture around!! What a cutie she is!
Here's Hannah's cheese.... No words can describe this one! :) Love her!
And look what I've raised!! A little floor potatoe!! This little girl likes movies too much!! (I'll just used the excuse that she was tired, because it's probably true!! :)
And to finish this post off, here is a picture of Jake's air ballon floating off into the night sky--it got up there soo high!! You'll learn more about this Thanksgiving pasttime in the next post! So fun and I'm so proud of my husband and his little projects. :) Love you Jake!!
