Updates!

Hey! Long time no posts!! Jake and I finally got the last of our stuff moved yesterday, so needless to say I'm a little behind on keeping my blog up-to-date. Alot happened over this last week, so I thought it was about time to update everyone not only on our lives, but on what is going on with my family as well. Here we go...

Jake and I are now back in Rexburg starting another school year. I graduated in December, but plan on getting an honorary degree in Biology and Chemistry right alongside Jake over the next 4 semesters, as I am now in charge of helping him study and do well in his classes. :) Wish me luck--I don't do well in the sciences! Jake has a full load this semester with a total of 19 credits, mostly all bio and chem classes, some research credits, and a part-time job on campus as well. And, to add to his stress, we just got a cleaning job at Aspen Village where we are in charge of weekly clean checks and lounge cleanup. This job got us a free 2 bedroom apartment right across from campus. We will right in the middle of the single girls here in Aspen, but that means all utilities and internet are paid for as well! We are really blessed to have this job and new living arrangement, which we will be keeping until Fall 2009 when Jake graduates and we move on to Jake's next stage of schooling.

As for me and Hannah, we will be busy unpacking for the next week or so! It will be nice to have the cleaning responsibilities every week so I have something to keep me busy and that helps me feel like I am supporting the family in some way. I did pretty good considering housing is pretty pricy, especially on a part-time work/college family budget! :) Hannah is growing a lot and I can't believe she is going to her 2 month apointment this week! We think she is so fun and love her to death!

Amy and Brett just got a new addition to their family last Wednesday. Her name is Saria (Sa-ry-ah) not sure on the spelling yet... Anyway, she is doing really well and they are really excited to be parents. Amy and Brett also graduated from CSI last April, Amy with her PA degree and Brett in education. They have now moved to Pocatello so Brett can finish his bachelors degree in Math Education. We are really excited to have them closer!

Katie is also moving closer to home! It will be weird not having two sisters in Twin anymore! Katie is making the move to Logan this weekend where she has a job at the JC Penny hair salon in the mall. Any of you close to there should definatly stop by and get a hair cut--she's the best stylist I know. Of course, I am a little biased, but she really does an excellent job. Tell your friends! She is excited to get into a new place, meet new people, and be able to come home a lot faster than the 2 1/2 hours it used to take her. We are excited to spend more time with her!

Well, Karen had a pretty exciting weekend over Labor Day holiday. She got ENGAGED!!! I know, can you believe it! My youngest sister! Holy cow-time flies! Actually, Christina Mourant, the lady I named Hannah after, wanted to set Karen up with him for a long time. Its her younger brother and turns out they were meant for each other! His name is Andrew Farnsworth, he's from Boise and going to school at BSU soon. He will move down to Ogden next semester after they get married in December so Karen can finish her lab tech associates degree. After that plans aren't for sure, but I think they want to go to Boise or Pocatello so Andrew can continue school and Karen can finish her bachelors degree. We are excited to get a new member of the family, along with the 2 new grandkids. I guess its family picture time again soon!

My parents are doing really good too. We spent about a week at home recently and had a great time canning, mowing, eating, sleeping, watching movies, etc... I was glad we were able to give them some time with Hannah before school started back up. We also got to spend a lot of time with Amy and Brett which was really fun too. Mom is going to school online to get her teaching certificate and should get that done relatively soon. She will then be eligible to teach there at the elementary there in Paris which will be really fun for her. Dad is still up to his Extension work and runs a little ultrasounding business off to the side. His work brings him all around Eastern Idaho, so we're hoping to see him once and awhile up here. They do a lot with Rod Mourant and the kids Maggie and Andy now that Christina is gone. I'm so glad that they have Rod down there in Bear Lake. Everyone seems to have family down there except us, so its nice that my parents have them to spend time with now that all the girls are gone.

Jakes family is doing well too! His sister Heidi is getting closer to finishing her Dental Hygiene degree at Apollo College in Boise. I think she only has 8 more months left--go Heidi! She does great work and those neck massages are the best! :) She was actually my roommate up at BYU-I before Jake and I got married and I love her and think she is so fun!

Carley, Jake's youngest sister is coming home from Ecuador soon! She has been serving in an orphange down there for the last couple of months and will be back on Wednesday and start school at BYU-I. I already have a few dates lined up for her and we are so excited to have her up at school with us!

Drew, Jake's only and youngest brother, is a senior this year and is involved with a show choir and track. Its funny-now I will have three bros in law, and two of them are named Drew! Crazy how that works out. He got his eagle recently and we're really proud of his determination and hard work! Jake's parents are doing well. Glendi is working part time for the school district and Chris is still working with AstraZeneca as a drug rep. They are getting closer to getting this cabin completed and we're all really excited about spending some great holidays up there!

Well, I believe we got the family mostly covered. I hope all of you are doing well. Now that I have the internet all hooked up, I should be better about posts, but we'll see...:)

NO WAY! I didn't know that was Christina's brother. That's crazy...I love it!
So much is happening in your family! I'm excited that Katie is living down here now. Laura, I hope that we can get together soon! I'm excited about your "free apartment". Jake sure does have the load! But I'm sure he's not a horrible time waster/procrastinator like I am, haha. :) There's no way I could handle that.
